connecting platforms

SpendGuard supports connecting to multiple ad platforms to manage your advertising campaigns. Currently supported platforms:

  • Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram ads)

  • Google Ads

How to Connect a Platform

  • Click Settings in the main navigation

  • You'll see a list of available platforms

Connect Your Account

  • Click the Connect button next to the platform you want to connect

  • You'll be redirected to the platform's OAuth page

  • Log in with your ad account credentials

  • Grant SpendGuard the necessary permissions

  • You'll be redirected back to SpendGuard

Select Default Account

After connecting, you'll need to select a default ad account:

  • A list of your ad accounts will appear

  • Select the account you want to use as the default

  • Click Set as Default

The default account is used when creating guards. You can change it later in connection settings.

Account Selection

When creating a guard, you can:

  • Use the default account (automatically selected)

  • Choose a different account from the dropdown

  • Select entities from multiple accounts (if you have multiple accounts connected)

Sync Process

After connecting, SpendGuard automatically syncs your:

  • Ad Accounts - All accounts accessible with your credentials

  • Campaigns - All active and paused campaigns

  • Ad Groups - All active and paused ad groups (Meta: Ad Sets)

  • Ads - All active and paused ads

Manual Sync

Open Connections

  • Go to SettingsConnections

  • Click on a connection to view details

Trigger Sync

  • Click Sync Now next to the default account

  • Wait for the sync to complete (may take a few minutes)

Rate Limits

Full syncs are rate-limited to prevent API quota issues. You can sync once every 6–24 hours depending on the platform.

Connection Status

Your connection status is shown with badges:

  • Active — Connection is working properly

  • Disconnected — Connection needs to be reconnected

If a connection becomes disconnected, reconnect it through the settings page.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If you're having trouble connecting:

  1. Check Permissions - Make sure you're using an account with admin access

  2. Verify Credentials - Try disconnecting and reconnecting

  3. Check Platform Status - The ad platform may be experiencing issues

  4. Review Error Messages - Check the connection settings page for specific error details
