Connection Issues

Connection Not Syncing

Symptoms:

  • Connection status shows as "Active" but sync doesn't work

  • Ads not appearing after connection

Solutions:

Check Connection Status

Go to Settings → Connections and verify status is "Active".

Reconnect

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the platform.

Check Permissions

Ensure your account has admin access to the ad account.

Make sure OAuth permissions are still valid.

The ad platform may be experiencing issues.

Connection Disconnected

Symptoms:

  • Connection status shows as "Disconnected"

  • Cannot sync or manage ads

You may need to re-authorize.

Ensure you still have access to the ad account.

Guard Issues

Guard Not Pausing Ads

Symptoms:

  • Guard shows as active but ads remain active

  • No pause actions in activity feed

Solutions:

Check Automation Mode

Ensure it's set to "Pause + Resume" (not "Monitor Only").

Verify Products

Check that products are actually below the pause threshold.

Check Rules

Verify pause threshold is configured correctly.

Review Activity

Check activity feed for any error messages.

Check Entity Status

Ensure ad entities are not archived or deleted.

Guard Not Resuming Ads

Symptoms:

  • Ads remain paused even when inventory recovers

  • No resume actions in activity feed

Solutions:

Check Resume Threshold

Verify inventory is above the resume threshold.

Check Takeover

If ads were paused outside SpendGuard, takeover may be needed.

Review Activity

Check for failure reasons in activity feed.

Verify Entity Status

Ensure ad entities still exist and are accessible.

Guard Showing Wrong Status

Symptoms:

  • Guard status doesn't match actual ad status

  • Confusion about whether guard is working

Solutions:

View guard details to see last evaluation time.

Review Activity Feed

Check recent actions for that guard.

Manual Sync

Trigger a manual sync to update entity statuses.

Sync Issues

Sync Taking Too Long

Symptoms:

  • Sync button shows "Syncing..." for extended period

  • No completion message

Solutions:

Wait Longer

Large accounts can take 5-10 minutes.

Keep Tab Open

Don't close the browser tab during sync.

Check Connection

Verify connection is still active.

Try Again

If it fails, wait for cooldown and try again.

Sync Cooldown

Symptoms:

  • Sync button is disabled

  • Message shows "You recently synced"

Solutions:

Wait for Cooldown

Full syncs are rate-limited (6-24 hours depending on platform).

Check Last Sync Time

See when you can sync again.

Use Automatic Sync

Initial syncs after connection don't have cooldowns.

Ads Not Showing After Sync

Symptoms:

  • Sync completes but no ads appear

  • Entity selector shows "No ads found"

Solutions:

Verify you've selected the correct ad account.

Verify Ads Exist

Ensure the account has active ads.

Check Filters

Ads may be filtered out (archived, wrong status, etc.).

General Issues

"Not paused by SpendGuard" Error

Symptoms:

  • Activity feed shows this failure reason

  • Ads cannot be resumed

Solutions:

Enable Takeover

Edit the guard and enable takeover.

Manually Resume

Resume the ads manually in the ad platform.

Re-create Guard

Delete and recreate the guard with takeover enabled.

Activity Not Showing

Symptoms:

  • No activity entries appearing

  • Guards seem inactive

Guards only act when inventory changes.

Email Notifications Not Received
