What is SpendGuard?

SpendGuard is an inventory-aware ad management system that automatically pauses and resumes your advertising campaigns based on product inventory levels and sales velocity. This helps you avoid wasting ad spend on out-of-stock products and ensures your ads are only running when you have inventory to sell.

SpendGuard tracks your Shopify product inventory levels in real-time.

It calculates days of cover based on recent sales velocity.

When inventory drops below your thresholds, SpendGuard automatically pauses your ads.

When inventory recovers, ads are automatically resumed.

Quick Setup Guide

Follow these steps to get started with SpendGuard:

Connect Your Ad Platform

1. Go to Settings in the SpendGuard app

2. Click Connect next to either:

   • Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram ads)

   • Google Ads

3. Complete the OAuth connection process

4. Select your default ad account

You can connect both platforms if you run ads on multiple platforms.

Create Your First Guard

1. Click Create Guard from the dashboard or guards page

2. Select Products - Choose which products to monitor (you can select specific products or entire collections)

3. Select Ad Entities - Choose which campaigns, ad groups, or ads to control

4. Configure Rules - Set your pause and resume thresholds:

   • Pause when: Inventory drops below a certain level

   • Resume when: Inventory recovers above a certain level

5. Choose Automation Mode:

   • Monitor Only - Get notifications but don't automatically pause/resume

   • Pause + Resume - Fully automated pausing and resuming

6. Click Create Guard

Monitor Your Guards

• View all your guards on the Guards page

• Check the Activity feed to see when guards pause or resume ads

• Review the Dashboard for an overview of your guard performance
